Tableau OData connector effectively handles the occurrence of special characters to ensure the correct display of values in Tableau Desktop.
During data extraction, the Tableau OData connector detects and replaces all the occurrences of '#,., and @' special characters in the Jira custom field and table name with an underscore (_) character.
When you create or edit an OData connector URL and select fields, you can notice the custom field names displaying '_' instead of '#,., and @'.
As you import the data into Tableau Desktop, Tableau uses its commonly used patterns to detect and transform your data to make it easier for you to interact with. Learn more.
You can notice that after importing Data, the Jira custom field and table names containing the '@' character display a space ( ) character in Tableau Desktop. This is because Tableau Desktop converts non-leading and trailing underscore (_) characters in field names into space ( ) characters. Learn more.
