Setting Up User Permissions and Roles

The App Permissions section allows you to grant permissions for the app menu page and control who can use the import and export functions. You can also define an AIP Admins group with admin privileges only within the app.
Prerequisites
You must be a Jira administrator to carry out the instructions on this page.
Before you begin setting up app permissions, we recommend defining the AIP Admins group.
AIP Admins: This group has admin privileges only within the app, allowing members to access all features and functions within the app but not have admin privileges outside of the app. AIP Admins can manage assets and inventory within the app, including creating, updating, and deleting assets and asset types, as well as configuring plugin settings, setting up user permissions and roles, and more.
To Configure App Permissions:
1. In the Jira navigation bar, click Apps > Assets and Inventory Plugin for Jira Cloud.
2. Click Settings in the AIP navigation bar, and then click App Permissions.
3. Click the pencil icon to edit the permission. The Edit Permission screen appears.
Permission | Description |

AIP app menu access | The AIP app menu access section allows you to grant permission to view the plugin menu on the top navigation for specific groups of users. |
Import/Export access | The Import/Export access section allows you to control who can use the import and export functions within the app. |
4. Click Save.
