External Assets Platform deprecation: What it means for AIP users

Atlassian has announced the deprecation of its External Assets Platform, which will be fully shut down on December 31, 2024. This page explains how this affects users of the Assets and Inventory Plugin for Jira Cloud and details the steps we are taking to ensure a smooth transition.

We are proactively introducing new solutions to minimize any disruption, and these will be available well before the shutdown date.

Key Changes:

  1. New Custom Field Solution
    We are adopting Atlassian's Forge capabilities to deliver a new custom field that will replace the External Assets Platform.

  2. Data Migration Support
    If you're using the current custom field, we will provide a migration tool to move your data to the new field, ensuring no data loss during the transition.

  3. Continued REST API Support
    You can continue to use our REST API to fetch asset details without any interruptions.
