Similar to Google Calendar integration, connecting an Outlook calendar with 7pace Timetracker helps automate the logging of hours based on scheduled events like meetings and appointments. This feature reduces the need for manual input and lowers the risk of errors. Key benefits include:

  • Reduce time spent on administrative tasks

  • Eliminate tool-switching when tracking time

  • Improve time tracking accuracy for planning and reporting

Connecting your Outlook calendar makes time tracking more efficient and less disruptive!

Activate Outlook calendar integration

Streamline your scheduling and time tracking by connecting your Outlook Calendar with 7pace Timetracker for Jira. This integration lets you import calendar events directly into the app for easier management and worklog creation.

Use the following steps to activate Outlook calendar integration:

  1. Click Settings > Calendar integration > Add Outlook account.

From the Calendar Integration page, click Add Outlook account.
  2. Choose your account.

  3. Follow the prompts to sign in to your account and authorize the app’s access to your calendar.

Select your account and follow the on-screen prompts.

Outlook calendar integration is also available from Weekly view. Click the Connect Calendar button.

Integration settings

From the Calendar Integration page, use the slider to turn off the integration, or the check boxes to indicate which calendar is visible in the 7pace app. Or if you decide not to use the integration, click Unlink account.

The Calendar Integration page holds all of the settings required to manage the integration.

Weekly view calendar integration

Now that the integration is ready, go to Weekly view. Here, calendar events are visible.

Use the following steps to create a worklog:

  1. When you create or select a worklog, event titles from your calendar automatically populate the worklog’s comment section. This integration helps capture context without manually typing. Point your mouse at the appropriate day and click the + button next to the event.

  2. The Add Time window displays.

  3. You can accept the recommended work item chosen as the associated work item or, if the recommendation is wrong, click the X to remove the work item and search for another.

Note: If you are using Calendar integration, 7pace Timetracker will recommend an associated issue for the worklog, based on event titles matching work item keys, Jira keys included in either the title or description, or recurring events linked to previous work logs.

  1. The From and To fields are automatically filled in, simplifying time tracking and improving accuracy. And the event title is displayed in the comments section.

  2. Complete the worklog and click Save.
