Power BI Jira Connector: Permissions for Jira
The Power BI Jira Connector app requires Jira permissions for the following.
READ
✅ Only reads the Jira data.
✅ To use the app, you need the minimum Jira Project “Browse” permission.
The Power BI Jira Connector app does not write or delete data from Jira.
The Power BI Jira Connector app does not administer Jira projects.
ACT_AS_USER
Refresh the data in Power BI Desktop using scheduled refreshes, even when the user is offline.
ADMIN
Jira Administrator privileges are required to manage the Power BI Jira Connector App Settings.
Power BI Desktop: The actions performed on data in Power BI Desktop do not impact the Jira data.
After importing the Jira data to Power BI Desktop, you have the flexibility to:
Modify the data in the Power BI Desktop
Delete the data in the Power BI Desktop.
Power BI Desktop does not write the data back to Jira.
During the subsequent data refresh, the connector fetches the fresh Jira data to Power BI Desktop.
Security and compliance statements
Since the Power BI Jira Connector application requires ADMIN permissions to manage App Settings, the marketplace template displays the following security and compliance statements by default.
However, not all the default permission statements are applicable to the Power BI Jira Connector app.
