Overview
Many of our Bob Swift apps allow teams to access data from remote URLs by supplying a username and password in the URL user and URL user password parameters within the macro editor:
Advanced Tables for Confluence (Username and Password parameters)
Code Pro for Confluence
Excel for Confluence
Graphviz Diagrams for Confluence
HTML for Confluence (User id for URL connection and Password for URL parameters)
Markdown for Confluence
To make remote data access easier and more secure, we implemented profiles as an alternative to these username and password parameters. Profiles are preconfigured by the administrator, so there's no need to enter any sensitive information into the macro editor. Users simply select the data source from a dropdown. With profiles being the recommended way to access data from external sites, we are removing the URL user and URL password parameters on March 31, 2022 and they will no longer be supported. Anyone using those parameters will need to configure profiles and update any impacted macros before this deadline to ensure your pages continue to display properly.
