Introduction
You can set baselines and track deviations from the initial schedule to assess the project's performance.
Create and delete baselines for all the tasks or selected tasks only. Baselines are displayed as bold lines under tasks. Baseline dates reflect the task position at the moment of adding a baseline.
Baseline start date and Baseline end date fields determine the start and end position of the task’s baseline on the timeline.
Baseline fields in column views
The Baseline start date and Baseline end date are available as built-in fields. Field mapping is NOT available for baseline start/end date - this means that data is stored only in BigPicture and is NOT synchronized with any other platform.
Actions on baselines
Baselines apply to tasks that have start/end dates. Baselines CANNOT be created for a task with only one date.View baselines
To display baselines on the timeline:
Navigate to the Gantt module.
Click the View menu icon in the top-left corner.
Check the Baselines option.
Create baselines for all tasks
To create baselines for all tasks shown in the issue list (WBS):
Navigate to the Gantt module.
Click the Data menu icon in the top-left corner.
Select the Baselines > Create option.
Click Overwrite to confirm.
Delete baselines for all tasks
To delete baselines for all tasks shown in the issue list (WBS):
Navigate to the Gantt module.
Click the Data menu icon in the top-left corner.
Select the Baselines > Delete option.
Click Delete to confirm.
Create a baseline for a single task
To create a baseline for a single task:
Navigate to the Gantt module.
Right-click on the task on the timeline.
Select the Baseline > Create option.
Delete a baseline for a single task
To delete a baseline for a single task:
Navigate to the Gantt module.
Right-click on the task on the timeline.
Select the Baseline > Delete option.
Limitations
You cannot create multiple baselines for a task.
