Swanly's permission settings allow you to establish limitations on users who can create, edit or view plans, both in the issue and release view.

Three permissions are available on the global level (Administer Swanly, Create issue plans, Create release plans), while 2 permissions work on the plan level (Editor and Viewer).

Administer Swanly permission

Users with this permission are allowed to:

  • create and edit plans

  • configure plans

  • grant and remove plan access

  • configure Swanly

  • see and edit all releases and issues across all projects

To edit Swanly permission, you must be a Jira Administrator with permission set up as global (not project-specific).

Issue Plan Creator Swanly

The Issue Plan Creator Swanly permission is assigned on the global level and allows users to do the following actions:

  • create issue plans

  • edit issue plans

  • grant and remove plan access

Release Plan Creator Swanly

The Release Plan Creator Swanly permission is assigned on the global level and allows users to do the following actions:

  • create release plans

  • edit release plans

  • grant and remove plan access

Manage releases in Swanly

Edit plan

Edit plan permission is granted on the plan level and allows users to edit the plan for the projects where they have access to edit issues. Users with this permission can do the following actions within the plan:

  • import/unimport projects

  • create issues (releases)

  • schedule, reschedule issues (releases)

  • edit issue details

  • add child issues to parent, add issues to release

View plan

View plan permission is granted on the plan level and allows users to view the plan for the projects where they have access to view issues. Users with this permission can do the following actions within the plan:

  • view plan roadmap and list

  • view issue (release) details
