Installing the Connector in Jira

This guide will help you install Connector for Salesforce and Jira in your Jira instance.

Installation

There are two versions of the installation depending on the platform you use:

Cloud

  1. Log into your Jira Cloud.
  2. Go to Apps Find new apps.
  3. Locate Connector for Salesforce & Jira.
  4. Click Free trial to download and install your add-on.
  5. You're all set! Click Close in the Installed and ready to go dialog window.
  6. If you're using Jira Service Management, take note of Working with Jira Service Management projects.
  • Prerequisites
    • You must be:
      • An admin of the Jira Cloud instance.
      • Either a technical contact or billing contact of the Jira Cloud instance. To verify, log in to MyAtlassian and ensure the Jira Cloud instance appears on the Licenses page.
Server
  1. Log into your Jira instance as an admin.
  2. Go to  > Add-ons.
    The Find new add-ons screen displays.
  3. Locate "Connector for Salesforce & Jira" via search.
    The appropriate app version appears in the search results.
  4. Click Free trial to begin a new trial or Buy now to purchase a license for Connector for Salesforce & Jira.
    You will be prompted to log into MyAtlassian. The Salesforce & Jira Server Connector will then begin to download.
  5. Enter your information and click Generate license when redirected to MyAtlassian.
  6. Click Apply license.

  • Prerequisites

    • You must be an admin of the Jira Server instance.
  • Switching Between Atlassian Licenses and ServiceRocket Licenses
    • Switching from a ServiceRocket License to an Atlassian License

      • Go to the top right of the page and click on the cog icon > General configuration
      • In the sidebar, under Composition Tabs for Confluence Server & Data CConnector for Salesforce & Jira enter, click License.
      • Click  Uninstall. The ServiceRocket License should now be uninstalled.
      • Now, in the sidebar, under Atlassian Marketplace, click  Manage Add-ons. (This only applies if Confluence can connect to the Atlassian Marketplace. If your Confluence instance is not able to connect to the Atlassian Marketplace, see the FAQ section below on how to proceed.)
      • Go to Connector for Salesforce & Jira and click either Free Trial or  Buy Now .
    • Switching from an Atlassian License to a ServiceRocket License

      • Go to the top right of the page and click on the cog icon > Manage apps.
      • Go to Connector for Salesforce & Jira and click on the pencil icon next to the License key.
      • Remove the license and click  Update.
      • In the sidebar, under Connector for Salesforce & Jira  Configuration, click License.
      • Upload your ServiceRocket License.keyfile by clicking  Choose File.
      • Click  Install.

What's next?

Now that we have the installation on the Jira side taken care of, let's switch over to Salesforce and install the Salesforce Package. Installing the Salesforce Package on your Salesforce will allow the Connector on your Jira instance to interface with Salesforce properly.
