Configuration page

Once you install Power Custom Fields™ for Jira Cloud, go to the Configuration page.

On this page, you are allowed to:

  • Create new Calculated Fields.
  • Manage your fields: you are able to edit, temporarily disable, or remove calculated fields.
  • Associate fields to the necessary screens.
  • Review all your Power Custom Fields in Jira with the necessary information in a useful format.
  • Have on hand documentation and fast connection with the support team.

Adding Calculated Fields

To add the Calculated Power Custom field, perform the following steps:

  1. Go to Apps → Power Custom field  Configuration page → click Create Calculated Field.

  2. Input the name of your field.
  3. Select the type of field calculation from the dropdown list.

You can choose the following options:
  4. You have two options where the calculation can be displayed.

    1.  In the current Power Custom Field. For this, no further actions are required. The field will be created automatically when you click Create.
      (!!! change screenshot)

    2. In the existing custom field. As an example, you may see a sum of story points for issues under the Epic in the native Jira field 'Story Points'. To do this, bind your calculation to the field from the dropdown list as pictured.

Be attentive and do not bind several Power Custom Fields to the same Jira custom field to avoid errors and incorrect app behavior.

  5. You are able to add the Calculated Power Custom field to the desired screen directly on the Configuration page. Just click 'not assigned' in front of the field.

  6. Select issue screens where you want your field to be visible and click Update.

  7. Your field will be visible on the selected screens.

  8. Another way to add the field to the Jira project, go to Settings → Issues → Custom Fields, find your field and click Associate to Screens.

As a result, you will have the Calculated Power Custom field on the selected screens, and users will be able to see it on the glance panel in the ticket.
