Welcome to Chat for JSM! We’re happy to see you here.

Chat for JSM is an easy-to-use live chat app for real-time customer support. The Chat Widget is what greets your customers when they turn to you in need of assistance, while the Chat Dashboard enables support agents to manage customer requests without ever leaving Jira.

This page contains step-by-step instructions on how to install Chat for JSM.

Before you begin

  • You must be a Jira administrator to carry out the instructions on this page.

  • Chat for JSM requires the Jira for Service Management application to be present. It will not work with other Jira platforms, such as Jira Software.

  • You need to use a fairly modern browser that supports current web Javascript and CSS standards to run Chat for JSM without any problems. The supported browsers are:

    • Google Chrome (desktop and mobile)

    • Apple Safari (desktop and mobile)

    • Mozilla Firefox

    • Microsoft Edge

How to install Chat for JSM:

Installing Chat for JSM is like installing any other Jira app (see Managing add-ons in the Jira documentation).

  1. Log in to your Jira Cloud instance as a Jira Administrator.

  2. Select the Jira Settings cog in the top right of your Jira instance and select Apps. The Find New Apps page displays.

  3. Type Chat for Jira Service Management in the search field and press Enter.

  4. Click Try it free to download and install your app.

  5. Click Start Free Trial. A confirmation message and the app details display once it installs successfully.
