There are differences between the Confluence Cloud and Server platforms, we are not able to deliver 1:1 feature parity between the environments but we are committed to a cloud experience that offers effective control and management of documentation.

Migration high-level milestone steps

Evaluate the Comala Document Management for Cloud app with your team and decide on moving to the Atlassian Confluence Cloud platform.

There is also a product comparison of the feature differences between our server and cloud apps.

The full workflow history is not migrated - this may require a plan to maintain an audit of workflow events and activities for your compliance needs.

Create and configure a Confluence Cloud site as the target environment for the migration.

Familiarize yourself and your team with Atlassian Confluence Cloud, the Comala Document Management Cloud app, and its capabilities using three workflows added to every space.

Use one of the installed workflows or create a custom workflow using the visual editor or code editor. Use the server app workflow translator tool to create a JSON cloud-compatible custom workflow and copy and paste the workflow template to the code editor in the cloud app.

Test your cloud site setup and apply and verify your workflows.

We recommend you create a cloud test site and install a free trial of Comala Document Management Cloud.

Migrate your content, current workflow state, and users using the Confluence Cloud Migration Assistant and apply your Comala cloud workflow to the newly migrated content in each space.

The migration assistant runs pre-migration tests and our app vendor checks reporting data errors and pages with restrictions that affect the migration.

Undertake several post-migration manual steps.
