Permission Schemes

Asset permissions are created within Permissions Schemes, which are then assigned to specific Asset Type Schemes and Asset Types by App Administrators. One permission scheme can be assigned to multiple types. Project permissions are able to be granted based on:

  • Individual users
  • Groups
  • 'Anyone' (e.g. to allow anonymous access)

The following table lists the different types of project permissions and the functions they secure.

App administrator

Ability to do anything within the Assets and Inventory Plugin configuration but not assets.

Asset permissions overview

PermissionExplanation
Administer Asset Type Scheme

Permission to administer an asset type scheme. Has full control to the Asset Type Scheme.

Can create attribute. Ability to delete and update attribute if has administer/manage rights to the all asset type schemes that attribute is used.

Manage Asset Type Scheme

Permission to create/edit asset types.

Can create attribute. Ability to delete and update attribute if has administer/manage rights to the all asset type schemes that attribute is used.

Browse assetsPermission to browse asset type scheme assets, use the Asset Navigator and view individual asset details
Delete asset

Permission to delete assets.

Create asset

Permission to create assets.

Update assetPermission to update assets.
Assign assetPermission to assign asset to a user. (This feature will be released soon)
Attach filePermission to attach assets.
Delete attachmentPermission to delete assets.
View/Download attachmentPermission to view or download assets.
