The versioning of Power Scripts on cloud may be a little disconcerting / confusing but there’s logic in it. In the cloud environment there are two versions:
The version of the Atlassian Descriptor of the application, which is published on Atlassian Marketplace. We have no fine control over the version string there, it is automatically incremented with every change, contains “AC“ (“Atlassian Cloud“) in the name. Example:Power Scripts for Jira Cloud uses two distinct version numbers:

On cloud, all clients are updated at the releases at the latest version. You are always running the latest version, take advantage of latest features and (hope not!) confront our latest bugs. |
Version type | Description | Location | Example | Update Trigger |
---|---|---|---|---|
Atlassian Marketplace version | Automatically generated descriptor with 'AC' (Atlassian Cloud) identifier | Atlassian Marketplace listing | 3.0.2-AC | Updates with each marketplace deployment. |
Our version of the application, which is totally under our control and that can be incremented without the descriptor above changed. You will get the internal version in the application, by going to Power Apps Config → General → Release Notes. We consider this version to be the relevant one, and it’s the version we are listing below.
App version | The internal version number in the application. | On this page. Also available In Jira Administration console: Power Apps Config > General > Release Notes | 3.0.2 | Updates independently based on feature releases. |
The app version is the primary reference for features and updates.
Cloud deployments of Power Scripts automatically update to the latest version, ensuring immediate access to new features and fixes. In exceptional cases, custom version control can be implemented for specific instances.
