You can easily control which time periods are visible to you and your coworkers in team from the Period settingsSettings page in OKR for Jira.

To navigate to the settings, you need to click on the “Settings” tab and then “Periods” in the side menu.

Inside the settings page, you have 2 sections - Your custom periods and Default Periods.

Your custom periods

In this section, you can edit and manage the custom periods added by you or your coworkers, as well as add a new custom period.

When editing a custom period, remember that the changes will be implemented in all OKR using the period. If you delete a custom period, then all of the OKRs using the period would stop having a period assigned to them.

Default periods

These are the periods generated by default. You can’t edit them, but you can hide all the periods that are not useful to you and just take up space by clicking on the eye icon.

If you’d wish the hidden period to be available in the app again, just click on the crossed eye icon.

How to manage periods

  1. Go to the Settings tab.

  2. Select Periods from the left-hand menu.

You’ll find two sections on this page:

  • Your custom periods – This section allows you to manage the custom periods created by you or your teammates.

    You can add new custom periods to match your team’s planning cycles, edit existing periods when plans change, and delete periods you no longer need.

When you edit a custom period, the change will apply to all OKRs using that period. Deleting a period will unassign it from all associated OKRs.

  • Default periods – These are built-in time periods provided by the app.

    • You cannot edit default periods.

    • You can hide unused ones by clicking the eye icon.

    • To unhide, click the crossed-out eye icon.
