BigPicture is an excellent source of information about your projects and portfolios. But if you want to find specific data quickly and in an easy-to-digest form , without constant constantly switching between Jira and BigPicture app, then gadgets serve are the way to go.
With BigPicture gadgets, you can add dynamic content to a Confluence page or the Jira application dashboard to monitor the health of projects, departments, or specific processes. This means that you can have your favorite Gantt charts and Risks all in one place and up to date thanks to the auto-refresh. Gadgets mirror the BigPicture’s modules.

To add a gadget:
Click Edit.
Click the Add a gadget button when viewing a Jira Dashboarddashboard.
Select Load more Type BigPicture to see the entire list of available gadgets.
Select the Click Add to select the gadget you would like want to add to your Dashboarddashboard.
When ready, click Done.

Add gadgets to Confluence pages
To add a gadget to a Confluence page:
Go to the Confluence Administration.
Click on the Application links.
Enter the URL associated with your Jira System.
Click on the "Authenticate to see status" and the Allow button.
Second, in the administration settings of your Confluence, find the External Gadgets tab and For official Atlassian documentation on configuring application links, see Linking Confluence to Another Application.
