It is possible to define new asset link types to explain the link between assets. When the app is installed, common link types are defined automatically, you can change them and introduce new asset link types.

An asset link type helps explain the relationship between two assets. You can define custom link types to suit your specific needs. The app automatically creates some common link types during installation, but you can modify them or create entirely new ones.

Steps

  1. Go to Settings > Asset Link Types.

  2. Click the Add New Asset Link Type button.

  3. Fill in the following fields:

    • Asset Link Name

    • : Enter a clear and descriptive name for the link type.

    • Outward Description: Describe the relationship from the perspective of the first asset (for example, for Is Parent Of, this would be This asset is the parent of).

    • Inward Description: Describe the relationship from the perspective of the second asset (for example, for Is Parent Of, this would be This asset is a child of).
