This post function allows you to automatically assign an issue to a user within a specified role. When the transition is executed, the issue will be assigned to a user in a specified role. It is possible project role during a workflow transition. You can choose to assign the issue to either:
To a random user

in the specified project role, or

To the last active user

in that role who

was previously assigned to the issue

.

If you use this post function

To add the Assign to a User in a Role Post Function
Go to the transition of your workflow, switch to the Post Functions tab and then click on the Add post function link.

Steps
Open the workflow where you want to add the condition and locate the transition you want.
Switch to the Post Functions tab.
Click the Add post function button.
Select JEP - Assign Issue to Specific User Role Post Function and click the Add button.

Select the project role and enable Last Active User In Role if you want to assign the issue to the user who was the most recent assignee (according to the project role) for that issue.
That's it.
