Post function to automatically assign an issue to a user that is set within a user custom field.

This post function automatically assigns the issue to the user in the selected user custom field. 

...

  1. Click the Jira cog icon > Issues > Workflows.

  2. After finding the workflow, go to the three-dots icon and click Edit. Navigate to the transition of your workflow.

  3. Switch to the Post Functions tab.

  4. Click the Add post function link.

  5. Select JEP - Assign Issue to User in Custom Field Post Function and then click the Add button.

  6. Select the User custom field. The issue will be assigned automatically to the user within this field.

  7. Click Add, and you’ll be redirected to the Post Functions list.

  8. Don’t forget to click Publish Draft to publish the workflow and save your changes.
