In the cloned issue observe that the current behavior is:

  1. comments,linked issues, and confluence page attachments as shown in the following image.

  2. In the top-right corner, select Actions (blue star)Clone Plus option or select the (blue star)Clone Plus quick-add button in any issue.

  3. On the Clone Plus for Jira page, do the following:

    1. Select the required values for Clone operation, Project, and Issue type.

    2. In the Clone options section, select the following clone option:

      • Attachments

      • Links

      • Comments

  4. Click Clone.

  5. On the Create issue page, select values for all the issue fields as required.

  6. Click Create.
    A successful issue creation message is displayed and the parent issue is cloned with the comments,linked issues, and confluence page attachments.

  • For the Comments clone option, you can select the Keep original comment author and date check box if you want to retain the name of the original comment author and the date in the cloned issue.

  • In the cloned issue:

    • The Confluence links are copied as web links

    into the cloned issue

    • The original commentator is replaced with the user

    performing the clone operation
    • cloning the issue.

  • In certain cases, the view restricted comments are not copied to prevent the comment from becoming visible elsewhere. The rules are:

    • All comments are copied when going to the same project whether they have view restrictions or not.

    • Any view restricted comments retain the same restrictions when copied.

    • All view restricted comments that are restricted by group are copied.

    • All view restricted comments that are restricted by a project role restriction cannotbe copied when the clone is to a different project.
