Introduction
There are multiple ways to edit monday items, subitems, and basic tasks in BigPicture.
Inline editing
You can inline edit by double-clicking (left mouse button) on the field. You can add columns with the data you wish to edit. In order to do so click on the cog icon at the end of the list of your columns.

Right-click - edit
Please note that this method works only for basic tasks.
Right-click on:
tasks in the task structure on the left
a task on a timeline on the right (anywhere except the task keyitem ID)
When you click "Edit" a pop-up window appears, allowing you to modify the task.

Editor slider
To see the Editor Slider, enable it in the View menu:

Please note that this method works only for basic tasks.
Select a task from the tree on the left by clicking on it (anywhere except the Keyitem ID).
The task is highlighted in blue and an Editor Slider panel appears in between the task tree and the timeline.
Click on the three dots and select “Edit”. Please note, this method only works for basic tasks.

Redirection to a connected tool
When you click on the monday item Key or subitem ID (either in the Column column view or on a timeline), you will be taken to the connected tool.

Basic tasks don't exist in any connected tools, so Key the item ID doesn't function as a link.
