This article explains how to create multiple issues with a substitution variable, project role in Creation on Transition post functiongives you the step-by-step instructions on creating multiple issues based on the project role using the Creation on Transition app.

Instructions

  1. Log into Jira as an Administrator and navigate to Image RemovedImage Added > System.
  2. From the left sidebarpanel, select Project roles under the SECURITY section.
  3. Create a role, for Project Role.
    For example, the Product Manager and assign Default Users/Groups role is shown below:

  4. Navigate to the Issues tab, select . Select Workflows under the WORKFLOWS section.
  5. Select the required workflow and click Edit
  6. Click the transition for which Create on Transition is configured.
  7. Select Post Functions and clickImage Modified to edit the Create Issue post function.

  8. Select Click the Detailed Fields link and provide %entry% into in the Assignee field. 
  9. Select the Click the Conditions & Configuration tab  link and enter %role_Product Manager% into the Create multiple issues field and click Update.
    Updated post function looks assimilar to:

  10. Publish the workflow before executing running the transition. With this post function, you can create multiple issues are created based on the list of users in the project role.
