This article explains how to create issues or sub-tasks based on the Component component value using the Create on Transition app

Instructions

Follow the steps:

  1. Log in Login as a Jira Administrator and click navigate to Image Modified > Projects.
  2. Select Project the project from the list in to which you want to add the Components.It will traverse  This navigates you to the Project settings of the particular project and click on Componentsselected project.
  3. Select Components from the sidebar.
  4. Add the respective components as required.

            Fill the required details to add the component as shown in the below screenshot.:

      5. Go Navigate to the Image Modified> Issues and under the Workflows tab, click the Edit link to modify the required workflow.
      6. Select the transition for which you want to add or edit the post function. Select the Post Functions option.

      7. Select Create Select Create issues or Create Sub-task from the available options.

 Navigate  Navigate to the Conditions and Configurations tab and add the below post function.

        9.  Click   Click Publish.
      10.  Create an issue and select
the a Component. Now perform the transition on the issue where to which post-function has been added.

             Two scenarios are covered in the below screenshot:
             Scenario1: Based on the Component value as value ProductY and , perform a transition on the issue. Issue is created with issue type Task.

             Scenario2: Based on the Component value as productX and perform value productX, perform a transition on the issue. Issue is created with issue type Bug.
