Introduction
Workload plans are the basis for resource capacity calculation. A workload plan specifies how many hours of work a resource can contribute each day. Assign workload plans to resources to reflect their capacity.
Access to resource capacity information makes it possible to monitor workload distribution and avoid overloading your resources.
...
View resulting capacity
Workload plans cannot be viewed in box modules. This information is available only in BigPicture Administration.
The resulting capacity can be viewed in the Resources module.

Make sure to adjust the view to match your needs.

a) During the installation, a default workload plan is created
b) the default workload plan is assigned to all users
c) check existing workload plans (and their details)

Max weekly workload
...
Specified the weekly workload limit of a workload plan.
Max weekly workload affects the weekly workload total display color. If the workload distribution of a plan (total of the purple weekly calendar on the right) exceeds the max weekly workload, BigPicture does NOT save a workload plan.
The max weekly workload does NOT influence the resource capacity - capacity is impacted by the actual purple workload distribution on the right. Resource capacity is simply a sum of the actual workload distribution in the purple section on the right.

Weekly workload total

BigPicture automatically calculates how many hours in total have been distributed over all weekdays.
...
Workload distribution
...
Workload hours are marked in purple on the weekly calendar.
The sum of daily working hours results in the weekly workload total.
To change the number of daily working hours, modify the number at the top of a given column.
To move a working hour block use the drag-and-drop mechanism.
...
Assigned resources
...
View and manage the list of resources assigned to a workload plan. The pop-up provides the following:
The total number of resources assigned to the plan.
The list of resources - you can scroll through the list of resources assigned to a given plan. A resource can be assigned to multiple workload plans or the same workload plan over different periods. Click the resource name to view all assignments in detail.
Remove from the plan - you can remove a user (a particular workload plan assignment) directly from the assigned resources list. If a user was assigned to a workload plan only once (there was only one list item for a user), the user is completely removed from the list.
Add a resource to a plan - you can assign a resource to a workload plan.

Workload distribution
| Worklad distribution is marked in purple and specified above the calendar columns - it is the basis for daily capacity calculation. Set the number of hours to zero to signify a non-working day. Start date | Workload plans are applied to a time period. Start date must be provided. You can use a future date to assign a workload plan to a user. | |||||
Efficiency | Efficiency lets you influence capacity without modifying the workload plan. If you want to simulate a non-human resource or use a single user to represent a team, you can use the efficiency multiplier. Use efficiency to reduce the capacity resulting from the Workload plan by setting a value below 1.

End date | End date is calculated automatically. When a new workload plan assignment is added, the start date of a new assignment sets the end date of the previous workload plan assignment. |
