Select groups
After clicking My groups from the Profile menu, the dialog box below will be shown. It displays:
- the number of groups in the window, which corresponds to the number of groups you manage
- the names for each of the groups you own with the member count next to each group name, sorted alphabetically
- selective groups can be marked as favourites by clicking on symbol. And by clicking on symbol the same group can be removed from favourites.
- selective groups can only be seen upon selecting one of the options from 'My Groups', 'My favourite groups', 'Recently added groups' which are available under 'Show' dropdown.
- Recently added 2 new groups are labelled withsymbol to nudge the user to take action on those 2 newly added groups.
- group(s) can be searched by providing a part of the group name(s) under 'Filter Group(s)' option.
- a maximum of only 10 groups are displayed per page. Click Next or Prev to navigate to the next or previous page respectively.
If an expected group does not appear in this list, contact your Administrator.
Click the name of the group you'd like to administer.
Favorite group(s) can be saved by clicking on star () symbol. Similarly a favorite group(s) can be removed as a favorite by un selecting the star () symbol.
User can set his preferred view by clicking on "Save this selection as my preferred view" button. With that the preferred view will be preserved for that user whenever "My groups" section is accessed.
The preferred view can be changed by the user at any point of time.
Manage a group
Once you've selected a group to manage in the preceding screen, a screen like the one below is displayed:
- Start typing in the Filter users field to auto search the users.
- To remove a user(s) from the group, select the check box against the intended user(s) and click Remove user from group.
- To add a user to the group, click Add user to group.
A maximum of only 10 users are displayed per page. Click Next or Prev to navigate to the next or previous page respectively.
Limitations:
- You cannot remove users from a read-only directory.
- You cannot remove a user who is a part of a nested group.
Note that:- such a user is marked with icon.
- this is applicable only in Jira.
Add user to a group
After clicking Add user to group in the preceding screen, a screen like the one below will be shown.
Enter any set of characters as search criteria. This retrieves the search results based on Username, Name, and Email of users containing the search criteria. Note that the username is displayed next to user's full name to make it easy to select a user when multiple users with the same name exist. Select the required user(s) from the search results and click Add User(s) to add them to the group.

You can now manage users in groups from all external directories (read/write or read-only) through Delegated Group Management. The app performs this action with regard to how Confluence or Jira natively enforces user management. Please note that the delegated group itself needs to be associated with a read/write directory for delegation actions to complete successfully. |
