You can create a generic counter custom field to display how many times the issue has been transitioned to the specified statusan Initial Status Custom Field to display the very first status within the issue. This field is a searchable and calculated (read-only) custom field.

an Initial Status Custom Field
- Navigate to JIRA to Jira Admin > Add-ons Manage Apps > Enhancer Plugin For Jira Menu > Custom Field Configuration and switch to Status tabFields (JEP).
- Click on the
button. - Click on Add new Status custom field button and select Add new Initial Status the Status tab on the left-hand side of the dialogue.
- Select Initial Status, then click Add custom field.
- Fill in the dialog dialog box:
- Give Create a name to for the custom field.
- And click click Save custom field. That's it.
This custom field can be used to sort or search in issue navigator.
