This article explains how to add the values from a number list to a multi-line text field in the post function , by using the Create On Transition (CoT) app.

Instructions

  1. Log in to Jira as an administrator.
  2. Click on Click Projects from the top navigation bar and select the project that you want. If the required project is not visible from in the drop-down, select the menu option: select View All ProjectsProjects and select the required project that you would like to use.

  3. Click Project Settings at the left bottom  (bottom left of the project page).

  4. Go to the workflow Workflows section and click on the Image Modifiedicon adjacent to the relevant workflow.

  5.  Click on  Click the transition that to which you want to add a post function. In the below As an example screenshot, adding add the post function for the In progress transition:

  6. Click Select Post Functions section and , and then, click Add post function.

  7. Select the option: the Create Issue option, and then, click Add for providing values to the fields.

  8. Under the issue fields of post function, click on Custom Fields section from Under Issue fields, select Custom Fields from the left side panel.
  9. Select the custom field and provide values to the filed. In the Values section, values need to be separated by \n as separate values with '\n' (newline character) as shown in the below screenshot:
  10. Click Add in the post function.
  11. Click Publish to publish the workflow changes.

Similar syntax can be used for bullets. But ; use asterisk (*) needs to be used, in place instead of numbers.
