This article explains how to add Number the values from a number list values to a multi-line text field in the post function, by using the Create On Transition app.

Instructions

  1. Log in to Jira as a Jira administrator into your Jira instancean administrator.
  2. Click on Projects from the top navigation bar and click on select the project that you want. If the required project is not visible from the drop-down, click on View all select the menu option: View All Projects and select the project that you would like to use.
  3. Click on the Project Settings on the page, which you will be able to find on the left side down the corner  at the left bottom of the project page.
  4. Go to the workflow section and click on the pencil icon adjacent to the relevant workflow.
  5.  Click on the transition , that you want to add Post Function. For example, If you want to add a post function. In the below example screenshot, adding the post function at the for the In progress transition as shown below screenshot:

  6. Click on Click Post Functions section and then click on Add post function button.

  7. Click Select the option: Create Issue button and  and then click add button for Add for providing values to the fields.

  8. In Under the issue fields of post function, click on Custom Fields section from the left side panel.
  9. Select the custom field and provide values to the filed. In the Values section you have to use the \n after the first value as , values need to be separated by \n as shown in the below screenshot:
  10. Then click on Add button in Click Add in the post function.
  11. Click Publish the Workflow to publish the workflow changes.
  12. When you do a transition to In Progress in the Jira issue, the new issue gets creates created and custom filed values will be set as number wise.

You can use similar syntax Similar syntax can be used for bullets. But at the numbers, you need to use a starasterisk (*) needs to be used, in place of numbers.
