This article helps you to resolve the reporter field error when creating issues in the child project using the create issue post function from Create on Transition app
Instructions
...
- Login as Jira Administrator and click on Projects
- Select a project and click on Project Settings
- Select the workflow that is associated with the project and click on Edit
- Click Add post function, select Create Issue from the list, and click on Add
- Configure the Create Issue post function. In this case, let's configure the post-function to create a ticket in the child project of Task issue type when transitioning the ticket to the In Progress status as follows:
- Publish the workflow and create a sample ticket and transition the ticket to In Progress status and test the changes that are made
- Navigate to the ticket that is created upon transition and check the field value of the Reporter
- Go to the permissions that are associated with the project and edit the Create Issue permissions accordingly
- Once the user has a Create Issue permission in the child project, the reporter field will no longer show the reporter as Anonymous

To avoid the reporter error in the first place, make sure to provide the required permissions to the user or add the user to a specific project role where the permissions are already granted |
