Value formatting options and custom aggregation formulas were already available in rich filter gadgets through the use of custom values. Creating a custom value is very useful when you want to use reuse it in several gadgets (e.g. Rich Filter Results, Rich Filters Statistics, etc.). However, if all you need is to customize these settings in a given view, you can now do this directly from the view configuration, without the need to create a custom value. This speeds up and simplifies the configuration process for such use cases.
