We’re allowing you to do cool stuff and things with how we display your issues! You can:

  • Select fields that will never be displayed (Global Hidden Fields)

  • Select fields that will always be displayed (Global Field Configuration)

  • Select fields that will be displayed for issues in a particular project (Project Field Configuration)

Unlock the power to tailor how your issues are displayed with Jira Field Configuration. Here’s what you can do. 

  • Global Hidden Fields: Hide specific fields universally. 

  • Global Field Configuration: Customize which fields are always visible. 

  • Project Field Configuration: Fine-tune field visibility for specific projects. 

Getting Started:

  1. Navigate to the Account Portal.

  2. Click Jira Field Configuration on the sidebar.

  3. Click Add Configuration.

Adding a Global Hidden Field

  1. Select Global Hidden Fields.

  2. Click Next.

  3. Use the search bar to add fields that should be hidden.
    If a required field is hidden, but does not have a default value set, it will still be shown on transition screens.

  4. For each field, you may select where it is hidden- everywhere, in Slack messages, in the view modal, and/or in transition dialogs.
    Default value: Hidden Everywhere

  5. Click Save.

Adding a Project Field Configuration

  1. Select Project Field Configuration.

  2. Select a project from the dropdown.

  3. Select what issue types (or “All Issues” for all issue types) will respect the field configuration.

  4. Click Next.

  5. Use the search bar to add fields, and the arrows to order them.
    The first five fields (Summary, Description, Type, Status, Priority) cannot be reordered, only removed.

    Placing a field among these values will cause it to still display below “Priority”.

    The message preview will update live to reflect the updated list.

  6. Click Save.

In order to see the field configuration applied to an existing issue in your system:

  1. Navigate to the Account Portal.

  2. Click Jira Field Configuration on the sidebar.

  3. Click Send Test Message.

  4. Use the search bar to find an issue by key or summary

  5. Click Send Message.
