  1. Navigate to the Confluence server installed location at this path <confluencePath>/atlassian-confluence-7.19.18/confluence/WEB-INF/classes/velocity.properties

  2. Modify the file velocity.properties.

  3. Look for the property introspector.restrict.packages

  4. Remove the below lines from it
    com.opensymphony.xwork.util,\
    com.opensymphony.xwork2.util,\

  5. Stop and Start the server.

  • The latest releases, 8.5.5, 8.7.2 and 7.19.18 have the same velocity.properties file, so a workaround will be applicable in all these This workaround is required for only 7,x versions not for 8.x versions.
