After you have installed the add-on using UPM

1. Advanced configuration options are available from the Configure link in add-on administration. Normally, the defaults should be fine.
2. At least one data source needs to be configured before you can use the SQL Macro or SQL-query Macro.

Data sources are shared resources. Some of these resources may need to be secured for use only by specific users or groups. This can be accomplished by using CMSP and configuring access to the macro and perhaps to individual profiles.
