How to create a component version

...

  1. In Octo navigate to the Component releases tab

  2. Click on Create Component versionVersion button

3. Fill required fields - Version name, and link a component Component

4. You can fill not mandatory fields like

  • Description,

  • Start date and Release start and end date,

  • Project release version - in case you want to include the component release in your project release,

5. Click on Create component version the Save button to create a new component version.

You can see the newly created version in the Components releases list in Octo and you can now link issues to this version.

Who can create a component releases

At the moment everyone who has access to your Jira can create and manage Component versions in Octo.

Only issues from projects that belong to the component from which component version is can be linked….WTF is this rule, need help to rewrite it.

  1. Click on Link Component version icon in issue header,

  2. In the Component , versionsfield select one or multiple Component versions,

  3. Save by clicking outside of the field.

track the progress of component version

To quickly see what’s the progress on the component release use component release detail view.

  1. Go to Component releasestab in Octo,

  2. find Find the Component release and click on the name,

  3. Component release detail opens, in the bottom part of the detail there is Linked issues section.

To view issues linked to the Component versions use JQL “Component releases“
