This page is about JEP Cloud. Using Jira On-Prem? Click the On-Prem button above. |
The feature allows you to display a specific field from the Epic issue when you are working within one of the issues contained within that Epic.
Imagine you have a project organized into Epics, which are large-scale units of work, and within each Epic, you have multiple associated issues. The Epic Issue Field enables you to choose a field from the Epic and display it within the individual issues belonging to that Epic.
You can define multiple Epic Issue Fields as needed, tailoring them to display different fields from the Epic that are relevant and useful to the associated issues. This flexibility ensures that you can effectively track and manage your project by surfacing key information from the parent Epic within its related issues.
How to Define an Epic Issue Field
To define a Parent Issue Field, follow these steps:
Click Apps in the top menu, and from the sidebar, navigate to ENHANCER PLUGIN FOR JIRA.
Open Panel Field Configuration.
Click Add New Panel Field, and click Epic Issue Field > Add field.
Provide a name for the panel field that represents the field from the Epic.
Optionally, write a description to provide additional context for the field.
In the "Field" section, select the desired field (e.g., Status) that you want to display from the Epic.
Click Save field.
The field will now be visible in the JEP Field. By clicking on the issue name, you will be directed to the corresponding parent issue.
