Measuring your success in SLA management is just as important as tracking your SLAs, and SLA Reports can help you do just that by helping you monitor team performance and build customer trust.

With Time to SLA for Jira’s Report functionReports, you can:

  • Select which SLAs and SLA statuses to include

  • Select the format of the data

  • Add additional fields and SLA values to include display in the report

  • Save a configuration and reuse it later

  • Export to Excel

On this page, you will learn how to create an SLA report and export reports into Excel.

How to Create an SLA Report

1. Log into your Jira account.

2. Click on Time to SLA in the header menu to see the TTS menu.

3. Go to SLA Report.

4. The SLA Report screen will appear.

5. Choose one of your saved filters or type JQL.

6. Select the SLAs that you want to include in your report.

7. Select the SLA Statuses (All, PROGRESS, MET, EXCEEDED, INACTIVE) that you want to include in your report.

8. Select how you would like to view the duration format when sorting or filtering your report (e.g. a human-readable format or number format).

Select Days if you want the durations to be converted into days in the report.

Select Hours if you want the durations to be converted into hours in the report.

Select Minutes if you want the durations to be converted into minutes in the report.

Select Seconds if you want the durations to be converted into seconds in the report.

Please note that if there is no day, hour, minute, or second value in the human-readable formats, this will be removed from the report (for example, it will show as "1d 10h" not "1d 10h 0m 0s").

9. Add the Fields that you want in the report.

10. Add the Custom Fields that you want in the report.

11. Add the SLA Values that you want in the report.

12. Add SLA Dates to filter out issues.

13. Check Include Disabled SLA(s) if you want to include disabled SLA(s) in the report.

14. Click Get Report.

Your report is ready! It will look something like this:

Here you can create highly configurable reports, report subscriptions, and line charts, and save search filters for reuse in the future.

  1. SLA Reports – Displays your SLA reports. Enables you to create new ones, as well as view, edit, and filter through older ones. You can also create periodic reports and background reports.

  2. Periodic Reports – Shows all of your periodic reports. Visit this page to download your periodic reports.

  3. Background Reports – Shows all of your background reports. Visit this page to download your background reports.

  4. Favorite – This category appears when youfavorite ((blue star)) a saved search filter. You can find all of your favorite filters here.

  5. Other – This category shows all of your saved search filters.

    • Met SLAs – A default search filter that generates Met SLAs report.

    • Exceeded SLAs – A default search filter that generates Exceeded SLAs report.

  6. Manage Filters – Lists all of your saved filters and enables you to easily manage them.

  7. Manage Subscriptions – Displays and allows you to manage your subscriptions for periodic reporting.

What types of SLA reports are available?

Time to SLA gives you numerous options to configure your reports to suit your unique needs. As of this writing, you can create four types of reports:

  • SLA Summary Report lets you see the most important information about your SLAs in the most concise way possible.

  • SLA Detail Report provides a more in-depth look into your SLAs.

  • SLA Durations Report enables you to create bar, stacked bar, and line chart reports for a selected time period and content.

  • SLA Status Report allows you to present SLA status information as a pie chart.

🤔 When should you use which?

The SLA Summary Report is useful for developing issue-based reports, whereas the SLA Detail Report is better for creating SLA-based reports. Meanwhile, the SLA Durations Report and SLA Status Report are perfect for visualizing your work and getting information across in an instant.
