Users who are migrating Visibility for Confluence from server to cloud will be able to retain all macro and its data. Your questions about this scenario have been captured and responded to below.

...

Question

Is there anything I need to know before migrating?

Answer
  • Both Visibility for Confluence macros ( Hide If & Show If ) are available in Cloud.
  • However, only some macro parameters are supported in Cloud. Refer to the specific macro reference page for more details

Question

What happens to the parameters that are not available in Cloud? Will my data be lost?

Answer

While the functions of these parameters do not have any output and the values are ignored in Cloud, all data will be retained. Some of the parameters may be coming to Cloud in future releases.

Question

Do I have to do anything to make these data available once the macro feature has been made fully supported in Cloud in the future?

Answer

These functions will automatically pick up the migrated data and work automatically.

Question

In terms of the content inside the Hide-if or Show-if macros. are there any special cases that I need to be aware of?

Answer

The content inside hide-if and show-if macros may not be displayed the same way in Cloud as they were in Server. For example:

  • If pages contain a third-party macro, you’ll still need to install that first.
  • Similarly, macros with integrations to other macros that are not supported in Confluence Cloud will not work as expected.
  • Pages that contain nested bodied macro will still work upon migration as long as you don't convert the page to New Editor
