Understand the feature differences between server and cloud, only some macros in Linking for Confluence are available in Cloud:


Question

What happens to the macros / parameters that are not available in Cloud? Will my data be lost?

Answer
  • While these macros / parameters does not have any output and the values are ignored in Cloud, all data will be retained. Some of the macros will be coming to Cloud in future releases.
  • After the migration, all the unavailable macros in View Page mode will be hidden to prevent you from getting the "Unknown macro" errors.

Do I have to do anything to make these data available once the macro feature has been made fully supported in Cloud in future?

Answer

These functions will automatically pick up the migrated data and work automatically.

Are there any special cases that I need to be aware of?

Answer

Yes. please see below:

  • The Add Page and  Add Page via Form macros may not be displayed the same way in Cloud as they were in Server. For example, if the macro is integrated with a third-party macro, you’ll still need to install that first.
