Introduction

By default, synchronization from Salesforce to JIRA is not automated, unlike synchronizing from JIRA to Salesforce. If changes are made to any mapped details in Salesforce to a JIRA-linked object, it will need to be manually synchronized and pushed to the linked JIRA issue.

To A JIRA administrator may automate synchronization , consult for you. Consult the following guides insteadto automate synchronization:

Step-by-Step Guide

The steps below outline this process and use an example of a Salesforce Case.

  1. Go to a Salesforce object and make an update to a mapped field.
In our example, we have updated the Subject field from "test subject's punctuation 2" to "Test subject change and push from SF".
As you can see below, there is now a discrepancy between the Subject and the JIRA issue summary to which it is mapped.

  2. Click Synchronize to JIRA (or something similar).

  3. A pop-up window will display with the JIRA interface.
Select Update Existing Issues(s) from the options and click Proceed.

  4. If successful, a short message will appear displaying the ID of the synchronized object.

  5. The pop-up window can now be closed.
You can verify whether the update was successful or not by either refreshing the Salesforce object screen or going to JIRA to check the details.
