We designed Issue Matrix for Jira Cloud to help you improve enhance the visualization of your sub-tasks and linked issues when viewing your issues in Jira Cloud. With Issue Matrix for Jira Cloud, you can significantly enhance and customize how sub-tasks, linked issues, issues in epics, and issues from a JQL entry are displayed in the issue view screen. The app allows you to overcome the limitations and drawbacks of the default visualization of related issues in Jira Cloud.Issue Matrix It appears as a separate panel in the issue view screen and contains a customizable list , displaying customizable lists of sub-tasks, linked issues, issues in Epicepics, or issues from a JQL query. The Issue Matrix panel contains custom fields from your Jira, which you configure , and even similar issues (issues with similar text in the summary and/or description fields).
Issue Matrix for Jira Cloud improves productivity by allowing you to add custom fields as columns in the Issue Matrix panel. You can add any custom field from your Jira as a column to your Issue Matrix and get the information needed by your projects and teams. This way, your teams can get the app overcomes some limitations of the default visualization in Jira Cloud and enables users to access additional information for sub-tasks and linked all relevant issues in a single issue view.

problems does Issue Matrix for Jira Cloud solve?
Issue Matrix solves addresses problems related to the issue visualization and content in within Jira Cloud. The drawbacks of the Jira's default Jira Cloud visualization fall into the visualization can be categorized as affecting usability and productivity categories:
Important information about sub-tasks or linked issues that is captured in custom fields cannot be shown - for example, estimates for tasks captured in "Story Points" or another custom field. As a result, each issue must be opened separately. If you have eight sub-tasks, you have to open eight new screens to see that information.
There are no column headers and non-technical users cannot understand all the information shown.
If you are dealing with sub-tasks or linked issue types, the panel name Sub-tasks or Linked Issues is generic and does not help users understand semantically the data shown in the panel.
Default Visualization of Sub-tasks in Issues
The description of the panel Sub-tasks is generic and Jira specific and not specific to the process used in this project.
A small icon identifies the type of issues: Development, Quality Assurance or Documentation task.
You can’t filter for a specific sub-task type in Jira’s native view.
There aren't panel headers that explain the data in the column.
Custom fields cannot be added to this view. For example, the estimates for each task tracked in a custom field cannot be viewed.

The solution Issue Matrix for Jira Cloud provides
After installing the app, you need to navigate to the Project settings->Issue Matrix Configuration page and create a matrix. After configuring and saving it, the Issue Matrix appears as a panel in the Issue View Screen and contains customizable information about sub-tasks, linked issues, or issues in Epics. The name you set for the matrix is the title of the Issue Matrix panel.
With the Issue Matrix for Jira Cloud app, you can create the following Issue Matrix types: Sub-task, Issue Links, Issues in Epic and JQL. The matrix types allow you to easily define which issues, what kind of details and how the issues will be shown on the Issue Matrix panel in the issue view screen.
You can customize the view to be different for different issue types and projects, an excellent flexibility option in Jira Cloud.
Issue Matrix allows you to achieve excellent visualization and rich content in issue views. It offers:
A user-friendly and customizable panel name, which is the name of the Issue Matrix.
Custom fields as columns in the Issue Matrix panel.
Customizable column headers in the Issue Matrix panel.
