Ensure your administrator has configured selected the required issue type while creating a clone operation as required.

Steps

In the respective issue screen:

Old Jira issue view: Click the Clone Plus button from the controls on the top right corner.

New Jira issue view: Select the Clone Plus option from the Actions (Image Removed) menu on the top right corner.
You are navigated to the Clone Plus for Jira window.

Select the Clone operation that is configured for your scenario and Issue type. Notice that you see only the following issue types as configured for you to clone the issue to:

Click Clone to configure the other issue fields further as required.

Steps

  1. Select an issue you want to clone in your Jira instance.

  2. In the top-right corner, select Actions(blue star)Clone Plus option.

  3. On the Clone Plus for Jira page, select the clone operation configured for your scenario and other values as required.
    You can only see the issue types as configured in the clone operation.

  4. Click Clone.

  5. On the Create issue page, select values for all the issue fields as required.

  6. Click Create.
    A successful issue creation message is displayed and the parent issue is cloned as configured.
