Groups and their usage

We are giving you Power Admin provides you with the tools needed to track and manage your groups in Jira easily. You can find any group and the information about its members, security, notifications, and JQL usage.

You can understand how each group is used, which projects are accessible by the group members, which filters and dashboards are shared with this group, and a lot much more.

Find groups

To find a group:

  1. On Power On Power Admin's Landing Home page, select Group from the drop-down, type a group name, and start your search.

  2. On the Search results page, click on the name of a group. You can filter further the groups by usage in projects (use using the Projects filter next to the group search field).

  3. Then, the group profile page appears.

  • Name, global permissions, and ID of the group - You can search for a group by its name. The group name is the ID of the group.

  • Members - number of the members of the group. You can click on the lozenge and be redirected to Jira's Users Users page displaying details about the group members.

  • Projects - number of projects associated with a group. The group is part of the configuration of these projects. When you click on the projects lozenge, you can view a list of all the group's projects.

How does Power Admin for Jira track the group usage?

Power Admin finds

A group's usage information is presented in the Summary Summary and Details Details sections on its profile page. To present a group's complex usage report in an understandable and convenient way, we divided the usage information in the Summary section into the following groups: Total, Security, Notifications, Workflows, and JQL. There are tooltips on all counters and lozenges in the Summary section.

Summary

The Total section displays the count of all the number of projects a group is configured in. You can click to view a list of the these projects.

The Security section displays the count number of projects where the group has access to their issues. You can click to view a list of the these projects.

The Notifications section displays the count number of projects where group members will be notified of changes in these projects.

The Workflows section displays the count number of projects where the group is configured in workflows assigned to these projects.

The JQL section displays the number of JQL references the group has in agile boards, service projects, and filters.

Details

The Details Details section of the profile page lists all the permissions, global permission, issue security schemes, events, workflows, agile boards, filters, andservice projects that use the group. You can then navigate if you want to , to the Power Admin profile pages of issue security schemes, workflows, and filters.
